BANK OF PNG – FINANCIAL INCLUSION EXPO 2013
The Bank of Papua New Guinea will be hosting a two (2) days Financial Inclusion Expo
(“The Expo”) from the 6th and 7th of December 2013 at the Sir John Guise Indoor Stadium
in Port Moresby, NCD.
The Expo is open to the general public and is intended to create awareness on the new and existing
financial products and delivery channels, and prospective developments in the finance and banking
sector with special emphasis on financial literacy and education.
Commercial Banks, Microbanks, Savings & Loan Societies, Superfunds, finance companies, investment
managers, stock brokers, training institutions, NGO’s, postal services, telecommunication companies,
and other stakeholders will showcase their products and services including innovative financial
service delivery channels such as electronic banking and banking using mobile phones. These
institutions will also be conducting free financial literacy training on money management, business
development services and on their products and services.
I therefore invite the public in NCD and Central Province to attend the Expo and interact with the
above institutions and to learn about their products and services and the role they play in promoting
financial inclusion in the country. It is also an opportunity for you to open bank accounts, sign up for
their mobile banking services and become a member/customer.
Institutions willing to participate in the Expo are encouraged to register your interest with the Expo
Committee.
I also invite local entrepreneurs such as women groups, youths and individuals involved in
informal business activities to register your interest. The Expo Committee will make the selection from
interested groups to showcase/ sell their products and services at the Expo.
